Notes: This is a section of disused canal that escaped the 1960’s landfill program, due to a few dedicated local anglers, that has since become controlled by Newton-le-Willows A.A.

It is approx 1300 meters long and has 103 pegs on it, there is some very good specimen fishing for carp, tench and pike, also some very good silver fish and pleasure angling to be had. It is blocked off at both ends so there is no boat traffic.

This section is also used for most Association matches in the senior match program.

Please be aware: Environment Agency Officials regularly visit our waters and will check your rod licence. Anyone found to be without a current E.A. rod licence will be prosecuted.
